Dick Jacobs

Richard Earl Jacobs
1901 - 1953

Bea met Dick in 1937 and by late 1939 they had married and had their first child.  Living in the family home at 307 2nd Avenue in Lewiston, Idaho, they hosted extended family members over the years.  They had five children and a very loving and dedicated marriage.

Dick attended the University of Idaho and was a sales representative for several companies, most notably as regional manager for Crescent Manufacturing Company where he traveled the northwest and developed loyal customers who retailed his spice and extract products.

He was active in Boy Scout leadership, played the ukulele, sang and entertained all with stories, jokes and good will.  We remember him driving up to the house dressed as Santa Claus to entertain the local kids.  As an amateur barber, he cut all the kids hair in our neighborhood for free.  They loved him.

When he died prematurely of medical complications in 1953 he left behind a widow with five children ranging in age from 2 to 12.  With minimal assets, Bea kept the family together and all her children graduated from high school and went on to careers and advanced education.

Bea kept an enduring love for Dick for sixty years as a widow.  She is finally with him again.
